Julian E. Zelizer, a professor of history and public affairs at Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School, is the author of "On Capitol Hill: The Struggle to Reform Congress and its Consequences, 1948-2000." He is now working on a history of the politics of national security. He has also written "Taxing America: Wilbur D. Mills, Congress and the State, 1945-1975" and is the co-editor, with Bruce Schulman of "Rightward Bound: Making America Conservative in the 1970s."
