Michael J. Lewis, an art history professor at Williams College, received a Guggenheim fellowship in May for his coming book, "The Pietist Tradition in Town Planning." His other books include "American Art and Architecture," "The Gothic Revival" and "Frank Furness: Architecture and the Violent Mind." Lewis contributes to the horizon, the arts blog of Commentary Magazine, as well as The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and The New Criterion.
