RACINE, Wis. -- At his town hall meeting here, Sen. John McCain just offered his first public statement about the infamous Obama/Paris/Britney ad. Here's what he had to say:
"I’ve said earlier, I admire [Sen. Barack Obama's] campaign, but what we are talking about is substance and not style…Campaigns are tough, but I’m proud of the campaign we’ve run and I’m proud of the issues we’ve tried to address with the American people…We’re proud of that commercial."
Not much I can add, that really kind of says it all. Discuss among yourselves.

Today, McCain’s people are saying that Obama has “played the race card.” Excuse me, but are we to believe it is an accident that McCain’s “frivolous and irresponsible” Hollywood celebrity implication connects a black man with a couple of blond women? Like, oh, I dunno, those other frivolous and irresponsible Hollywood folks, OJ and Nicole?
The racist undertone of the McCain ad certainly should be considered.
