Michigan Messenger’s Liveblog from diverse Michigan precincts captured widespread voter confusion and consternation about the absence of Barack Obama and John Edwards from the ballot.

One poll worker in the St. Clair Shores said, "A lot of people asked, ‘Where’s Obama?’ They didn’t know the national Democrats had been upset when state Democrats moved the primary up and asked the candidates not to campaign in Michigan."

"It’s like Florida all over again,with people’s votes not counting," said a Democrat in Greenville, northwest of Grand Rapids. "I think it’s wrong."
