As I clicked "publish" on Art's TV-pushes-the-vaccines-autism-line post a minute ago, I noticed CNN was airing a press conference held by parents of an autistic child who believe she was fine until receiving a number of childhood vaccines. Now they've got Deirdre Imus on discussing "numerous studies" showing a link between vaccines and autism. I thought this study pretty much cleared that up:
Meanwhile, an important new study from California has driven another nail into this undying corpse. The study showed that while thimerosal—the mercury-containing preservative many parents blame for causing autism—has been nearly eliminated from pediatric vaccines in California, the numbers of kids diagnosed with the disease keep rising.
